It almost seems too good to be true, but luckily for us, it is! Chanel, Christian Dior, Estee Lauder, Givenchy and more: they're all giving away free products at various retailers. Why, you might ask? The deal is part of a settlement filed in 2003 that alleged the stores tried to limit sales and scale back on the amount of cosmetics in their inventory, keeping both prices and competition high. A class member will be able to receive one free cosmetics product from one of the manufacturer defendants from which he or she purchased department store cosmetics during the class period, May 29, 1994 through July 16, 2003. You may need to sign a waiver agreeing that you actually purchased these products in that time period.
